MY LIVING FAITH

Uchenna Faith

The best thing about me is Jesus. Now, I am no saint. By no means am I even close, but I’ve been really graced with a relationship with Jesus that affects everything about my life – my attitude, creativity, self motivation, determination and resilience.

Religion is not my thing. What I have is about relationship. Relationship with a living God.

For instance, I acknowledge that my skills are as a result of my capacity and natural gifts, both of which are God given. As time has passed and I’ve gotten closer to God in my walk, I’ve been made more and more aware of these gifts and how they were given to me for a reason. This inspires me to explore ways I can do more and be more. After all “from everyone who has been given much, much will be required; and to whom they entrusted much, of him they will ask all the more…”

There are a lot of things that I struggle with every day. Being more loving and patient is up there on the list. I’ve always been a bit of a quick thinker and perfectionist. It has also made me highly critical and impatient with others who perhaps are not as thorough as I am. Realizing how we are all God’s creation and purposefully designed by Him is one of the ways I’ve been evolving into being more loving and patient. Treating people as people.

It’s nice to have a savior that understands what it is to be human and flawed, yet empowers to be more and do more. Through this relationship, I experience peace, love and joy.

It isn’t always like that though. I find that there is the simple task of being obedient to God that I seem to fail a lot at achieving. When that happens, which is a lot, I tend to become a basket case. Fortunately, I have the assurance of never being given up on, so I remain on a continuous cycle of being pruned and improved upon.

It’s a grueling process – spiritual growth. However, I count myself fortunate to experience it. The result continuously benefits me, and those around me, as I strive to live a life of Love and work diligently with and without any human audience.

God is my audience. And He is everywhere.
